#SundaySermon: Victory Through Him

Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37 AMP).

No matter what challenges you may be facing today—at work, home, in your health or in your relationships, God promises that even in the middle of “all these things”, you can have victory. How? Victory starts in your heart and mind. Victory starts with peace that passes understanding. That means that you can have peace when it doesn’t make sense to have peace. When the rest of the world is full of anxiety and worry, you can live in peace.

Victory “amid all these things” also means that you can have joy deep down in your soul. You can have so much joy that you can’t even explain why you have it! It’s supernatural. It’s joy unspeakable and full of His glory and power. When you begin to dwell on God’s promise of victory, something will change on the inside of you.

You may have felt like you were losing ground five minutes ago, but right now you can take hold of the victory He’s promised. Open your heart to Him and receive the joy and peace He longs to give you. Remember, the joy of the Lord is your strength, and as you embrace His joy, you’ll be empowered to rise above your challenges so you can move forward into the victory He has for you!

Father in heaven, thank You for Your promise of victory! Thank You for Your peace during the storms of life. Fill me with Your joy and strength as I put my trust in You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Get Your Fire Back!

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
(2 Timothy 1:6, NIV)

Have you ever wanted to do something really great? Maybe you had a big dream; maybe you believed you could start a business. Maybe you wanted to lose some weight or go back to school. Now, it’s been so long. You tried and it didn’t work out. The loan didn’t go through. The medical report wasn’t good. Now, the “never” lies are playing in your mind… “I’ll never get well.” “I’ll never get married.” “I’ll never accomplish my dreams.”

Today is the day to get your fire back. Today is the day to get a new perspective. The Creator of the universe has already set the completion date for the dream He’s placed in your heart. And, just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean that it’s not going to happen. God has already lined up the right people, the right breaks, the right answers. Everything you need is already in your future. Now you’ve got to shake off the doubt; shake off the discouragement. Whether it’s been a year, five years or fifty years, what God promised you He still has every intention of bringing it to pass. Keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping and keep moving forward. Get your fire back and let Him fulfill every dream He has placed in your heart!

Father, thank You for every dream and desire You’ve placed within me. Today I choose to press forward. I choose to stand in faith. I choose to be diligent with everything You have placed in my hand in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” {Jeremiah 29:12-13}

He Will Never Let You Go

No matter what you may have gone through…whether heartache or headache…whether a setback or if, in life, you feel you’ve taken a step back…no matter what it is…let it be a testimony in the sense that you’re still standing, you’re still breathing, you’re still living and you’re still moving.
You’re still alive to experience God’s grace and a second chance to get it right and keep walking.
Though you may be facing or have gone through many trials and tribulations seemingly on every side, know that God is with you and will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5) – He simply just wants you to trust Him through the storm and seek His face for wisdom and
guidance along the way. (James 1:5)
Instead of doing things your way, or the way that you think should work based on the circumstance, give it to God and go to Him in prayer and find out His way and what He would
have you to do to see you through.
Sure His way may take longer than man’s way, but His way garners the best results as He comes through right on time every time.
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:2-4

A Reason Isn’t a Right

To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory.” (Isaiah 61:3, NLT)

It’s easy to have a good attitude and pursue our dreams as long as everything is going our way. That doesn’t take a lot of faith. But what about the difficult times — when a relationship doesn’t work out, or you get a bad health report, or a friend does you wrong? It’s easy to lose your passion when you’re hurt. Too many people are sitting on the sidelines of life because they’re injured. Now they’re nursing their wounds, not moving forward because of what they’ve been through.

You may have a reason to feel sorry for yourself, but you don’t have a right. God promised He will give you beauty for those ashes. He said He would pay you back double for the wrongs, but you have to do your part. If you’re going to see the beauty, you have to shake off the ashes of self-pity. You’ve got to shake off the discouragement and get back in the game. Every person has injuries. We all have wounds, but you can’t let a loss, a health issue, a divorce or a hurt be an excuse to sit on the sidelines. Today, get back in the game. Know that your best days are ahead. Know that He is working things together for your good, and He has victory in store for your future!

Father, thank You for giving me strength to shake off the past and move forward. Today I rise up in You. I choose to forgive. I choose to set my eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith in Jesus’ name! Amen.

God Always Has Your Back!

It’s okay to desire a true companion in life, one who walks with you in agreement, whether it’s a friend or significant other. The word, ‘companion’, means, one who keeps company with another, one with whom a person frequently associates or converses. One who accompanies another. A partner, an associate.
A lot of times we find this type of companionship in our friends, relatives, or in a significant other.  We spend time with them and we converse with them frequently, whether on the phone or in person.
However, in those times when they’re not there, remember the Friend you have who is always there, just waiting for you to call on Him. Not only is He always waiting for you, He’s always there with a word of encouragement, never to judge you but simply listen and steer you in the right direction because He knows and wants what’s best for you more than you do.
No one has your back more than God has your back. You never have to clarify yourself with God, because He knows and hears your heart. People may disappoint you, but your best friend, Jesus, never does. People may hurt you, even unintentionally at times, but Jesus always knows the right things to say, and He’s always there. Never take for granted the privilege you have with Jesus as your ultimate companion. Your best friend forever is just waiting on you to etch time out of your day to chill with Him; and He’s so happy to hear from you every time.
The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning. Psalm 25:14 (Amplified Bible)
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. Psalm 73:25
