Hebrews 11:6 reads, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
When we come to God, we must believe that He Is…which means that we should have some idea of who He is.
A lot of times we know God as some things, and not all. For instance, we may know Him as our Savior, but we may not know Him as the Lord over our lives who has the ability to speak into our lives and tell us what we should do with our lives.
Or, we may know Him as a help in a time of need, but we may not know Him as a Comforter who can hold us in His arms late at night as we clutch our pillow tight and cover us with perfect peace…the kind only He can give (John 14:16, Isaiah 26:3)
We may know Him as a God who will supply all our needs, but we may not know Him as a God who freely gives exceeding abundantly above all we ask or thing so that He will give more than what we need and also give us what we want (Ephesians 3:20 and Psalm 37:4)
So I encourage you to get to know God and all His many aspects…anything you need Him to be, and all that He can and will be for you…He is.
