It’s Okay To Start Over

Ever get disappointed?
I believe we all have at some point in our lives.  Well for today’s daily devotional I want to encourage you not to be disappointed another day in your life!
According to the word, “disappoint”, means “to fail or fulfill the expectations or wishes of”  It also means to defeat the fulfillment of (hopes, plans, etc.)
When a relationship doesn’t work out the way we wanted it to, it’s easy to get disappointed.  When it comes to an end, it’s easy to get into feeling like you have to “start over” with someone totally new, thus “waste more time” trying to find someone or shall I say be pursued by someone in order to start the whole dating process all over again.
Just because a relationship didn’t work out, there’s no reason to become disappointed.  Just because you discover one person isn’t the one doesn’t mean the one for you isn’t out there, it only means it will take a little longer for you, two, to meet.

Just because one job didn’t work out, doesn’t mean there’s not a better one for you.

People can attest to the fact that that pain of divorce stings a lot more than breaking up from someone where  there was no life long commitment expectation. Relationships are part of life’s journey, and a relationship that doesn’t work out teaches you what you like, dislike, what you’re willing to tolerate and, more importantly, we learn more about ourselves – stuff we may have never learned had we not been in the relationship.
Others will tell you that working in a job you hate, hurts more than being in a lower paying job that you truly enjoy.
Also, the saying remains that when one door closer another even better one is sure to open down the line.
So don’t look at a break up or getting fired as a step backwards, look at it as one step closer to the one God has for you and an opportunity to take all the positive things you’ve learned from that situation into the next one.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  {Romans 8:28}
