Pray Better!

Many view prayer as simply asking God for something, or asking God to put His hand and anoint or bless whatever we’re doing.  You know what I mean, “Lord, I took this new job so bless it.” or “I’m in this new relationship, and even though I know he’s not saved and may not be the one for me, still bless it Lord, open His eyes, Lord, save him, Lord” while knowing good and well God’s requirement to date anyone is that He should be saved first (2 Corinthians 6:14)

For today’s devotional I’d like to encourage you to instead of asking God to bless what you’re doing, do what God is blessing. This year, seek God’s face more than you have ever before.  Read the Word every single day, even if it’s just
one verse a day.  The more you get to know God by knowing His will, which is found in His Word, the more you will know what is God’s will and what isn’t when it comes to your life.  And of course on matters that are not necessarily spelled out directly in the Bible, such as what job to take, etc, then definitely seek God’s face in prayer as God has a specific path and destiny designed that is uniquely yours.

So pray better this year by not just asking God to bless what you’re doing, but by actually doing what God is blessing.
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. Psalm 27:8
