#SoulfulSundays: It’s Time To Surrender

I believe every Christian has a breaking point in their lives where they throw in the towel, lift up their hands and simply surrender totally and completely to God.
Whether it’s a total commitment once you got saved, or if it came years later as a result of a traumatic experience or simply an awakening one day, it is only through God’s grace and His love for you that He allowed your spiritual eyes to be opened so that you could see yourself outside of yourself and one day make the decision to truly change.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.  Philippians 2:13

The more you seek His face and sit underneath His Word and, on purpose, and place yourself in a position to hear from God whether at church, a conference or gospel concert, the more the seed of the Word gets planted on the inside of you where eventually it will reap a harvest in your heart causing you to totally commit and surrender to God.

God chose you from the beginning (John 15:16), and it’s God’s power in the form of Holy Ghost working on the inside of you giving you the desire to want to do His will and do right by Him.

Where folks get into trouble is when they ignore Holy Ghost’s unction and decide to live however they want to live outside the will of God when oftentimes the truth lies within.

Whether it’s because of fear of not succeeding, fear of what others may say or think, or just plain ‘ole pride getting in the way, folks come up with tons of excuses in their mind to validate why they haven’t totally surrendered their lives to Christ yet.

However, God searches the heart (1 Samuel 16:7)

He realizes we don’t have all the answers and don’t know our own way otherwise He wouldn’t have sent Jesus to die for us in the first place because we wouldn’t need Him.

God simply wants us to come to Him as we are, where we are.

He wants us to not only be saved, but also surrendered.

It’s time to totally surrender all to Him and say:  “…not my will, but thine, be done.”  {Luke 22:42}
