Feelings!

As a believer, it’s important to walk by faith and not feelings.

Think about it, if we all were to be led by how we ‘felt’ at any given moment, nothing would ever get done, folks would hook up with the wrong people out of boredom, and children would be left to themselves instead of raised properly.
You may not feel like getting up and going to work every day during the week, but you do it anyway.
If you have children, you may not feel like cooking for them, but you do it anyway.
As a single, you may feel so lonely, or so tired of not having a boo that one day you feel like calling your ex who abused you three years ago and giving him another chance.
Feelings are fickle.
One minute they feel one way, the next minute they feel an entirely different way.
Feelings change, but thank God that we serve a constant God.
God will never feel a certain way about you one day then feel a different way about you the next.
God’s love is unconditional, and is not based on how He feels but on what He knows to be true about you (and, yes, God has feelings, too 🙂 – a few references: Genesis 6:6, James 5:11, Psalm 35:27
In the same manner, it’s important for us, as Christians, to not be led by our feelings when it comes to relationships, careers choices and our own individual path but that we are led by God and what He says about us, and what we believe based on His Word.
When you feel a certain way, contrary to God’s Word, then it’s up to you to reprogram your mind from acting on how you feel to believing and acting on what you believe.

You reprogram your mind as you daily meditate on His Word.

For instance, if you feel tired or weary – you must remember that as you go to God you find rest for your soul and that there is no weariness in well doing as long as you remember in due season you shall reap.  (Matthew 11:29; Galatians 6:9)

When you feel like something isn’t going to work out, you must remember all things work together for good for them who love God and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)

If you feel unloved, then you must remember how God loves you with an everlasting love and that with lovingkindness He is drawing you closer to Him. (Jeremiah 31:3)

If you feel unaccepted, you must remember you are always accepted in the beloved and that He accepts you every time. (Ephesians 1:6)

Once you realize your worth in Him, then it becomes easier to walk by faith and not feelings in every situation.
For we walk by faith, not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8
