Take Time To Listen To God

“And the Lord utters His voice before His army, for His host is very great, and [they are] strong and powerful who execute [God’s] word…” (Joel 2:11, AMP)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

God teaches us to hear His voice little by little. It can be something as simple as being at the mall and not feeling good about a purchase you’re about to make. No big deal. You put it back. At the office, you feel an unrest around a certain person. You just back away. At home, you feel a prompting to spend time with your child. At night you hear a suggestion, “Turn off the TV. Go to bed. You need your rest.” You turn it off.

Pay attention to what you’re feeling. Those are all little ways that the Holy Spirit guides us. Don’t ignore the impressions, the promptings. God speaks to us in a still, small voice. He is not going to boom out lightening to get your attention. He is not going to flash it across your TV screen. When God speaks, it’s usually subtle.

Remember, if you’re going to hear a whisper, you’ve got to get close. You’ve got to be tuned in. You’re not going to hear Him by accident with the business of the day, the stress of the office, running here and there. You have to ask yourself, “What am I feeling? What am I sensing?” You have to take time to get quiet and listen to God.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for teaching me to hear Your voice. I choose right now to be still and lean into You. I pray that You will make Your voice clear to my heart. Thank you for leading and guiding me as I listen to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Good one Miss. Vent, I have this friend who is on me all the time! She fuss at me about my grammar, lack of conversation, my big hands, my big feet, and my big lips lol. I had a conversation with GOD about that. I was mad about something that happened this morning and I couldn’t sleep. So I got up and went to the gym. And while I was working out, I started a conversation with GOD. And he talked back to me. Miss. Vent is right, we need to Take Time To Listen To GOD.

Me: God what is wrong with me?

GOD: Nothing, your grammar and lack of conversation is something that you can work on. No matter what, do not rush just take your time with your grammar. And your conversation is not for everybody. But you can be a good listener and you will see results with your conversation.

Me: Why is my hand and feet is so big?
GOD: I made your hands and feet so big as a reminder.
    Me: For what father?
GOD: I made your hands big to remind you that you are strong enough to carry your own burdens. And when you can not carry them anymore, I will be there to relieve them. I made you feet so big to let you know to stand your ground. When you feel the pressure of the world on your shoulder, plant your feet firm and believe in me and everything will be fine.
Me: Thank you lord, I feel better now.
GOD: Do you want me to tell you why I made your lips so big?
Me: I already know why you made my lips so big.
    GOD: Why?
Me: To let me know where I came from and to be proud of my history.
GOD: True, but it will not hurt you to put on some chap stick lol!
    Me: Good one GOD lol.

Me and GOD conversation was longer then this but this was one of our main topics! I am glad that GOD is always there for me and believing in me. I know that I can be nice to my fellow man, but that do not mean that they are going to be nice to me. But I do not care, GOD got my back! I am no punk! And GOD do not have any punks in his army! But it is nice to know that I can call on him. GOD is listening to me and I can hear him when I need some answers! To my CV followers, Take Time To Listen To GOD!
P.S. Sorry if I made any errors, I am typing from my cell phone and I am in a hurry. I had to write this down before I forget it.
